How it works:

This tool uses ExifTool to remove metadata from your files, including EXIF, IPTC, XMP, and maker-specific data (where possible). Here's the process:

1. You upload a file (image, video, document, etc.).
2. Our server uses ExifTool to strip removable metadata from the file.
3. The processed file is sent back to you for download.
4. Your original and processed files are immediately deleted from our server after processing.

This process helps protect your privacy by removing potentially sensitive information embedded in your files.

Supported File Types:

ExifTool supports a wide range of file formats for metadata removal, including:

• Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC, AVIF, WebP, and many more
• Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and others
• Audio files: MP3, WAV, FLAC, etc.
• Documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX

Limitations:

While this tool effectively removes most metadata, some file formats (particularly RAW formats like ARW) contain proprietary metadata that may not be fully removed to preserve file integrity. This includes information such as camera make and model, image dimensions, and technical details embedded in RAW files.

Unsupported File Types:

The following file types do not typically contain removable metadata:

• Archives: ZIP, RAR, 7Z
• Text and Data Files: CSV, TXT

If your file type is not listed here, you can still try uploading it. However, the primary focus is on multimedia files and documents containing metadata.
